jana w.
Hello all! I am trying learn how to design a flush mount album in Photoshop Elements 5.0. I bought Kathy Woodford's book on digital album design and I like it but I have hit a wall. I need to know how to split the 20x10 spread into 2 10x10 images to send off to the lab. In the book, it has a short discription saying after I flatten the image, check the "snap" in the view menu (this is not an option in PS Elements) and drag a vertical guide to the center of the pages. Then with the marquee tool, drag on the outside of the image of the left side of the image. Then from the image menu, choose crop. That is all of the instructions! When I get the marquee tool, and choose crop, it just chops off the right half of the image. Does anyone else have any ideas on what to do so I can send these pages off to the lab? As you can probably tell, I am new to photoshop! Thanks! Jana
joeb
I don't know if this will work in elements 5. In CS the rect marquee tool allows fixed size as a selection. I made a new image (10"x20" 300 dpi), selected the marguee tool, changed to fixed size, entered 10inx10in, you then can use the clipboard to copy the right and left halfs of the image, paste the clipboard to new images and save.
