warrenlewis
I photographed the kids at school today. Just all of us running around, nothing that is a big deal, snapshot stuff and I want to print all 85 of the images. JPEGS, no editing, color correcting or croping needed. <p>I have the images cataloged in Lightroom v1.0 and would like to print them all out, 4x6 or 5x7. How do I do it? I can't find a tutorial for this use....Thanks, Warren
Former P.N Member
For 85 snapshots I would just upload them to WalMart, Walgreens, CVS, etc. or burn them to a CD and take them to a local mini-lab for printing. Not worth the effort to do that many myself.
don_e
Select all the images. click on the Print Module. Adjust size. Select Managed by Printer or the correct paper/printer profile, load up your 5x7 or 6x4 paper. Click print. Make a cuppa. Note: this is for the Beta. Things may have changed in 1.
don_cooper
I'm with Richard, 15-20 cents each (sometimes less), why bother printing at home.
pico
Even my wife's dirt-cheap inkjet printer has the ability to scale images to given sizes. She buys the little paper (4x5...), loads them in, tells the printer the size and prints away. If the printer runs out of paper, the software pops up a "need more paper" dialog, she loads it up, and printing continues. It's in the printer driver. joshroot
I use Costco for that sort of thing. Burn to a CD, bring it to the store, use their little digital machine, come back in one hour and pick up photos. Cheap and good quality.
phule
Same as Richard/Don/Josh. The kiosks are dead simple to use.
godfrey
Don's instructions are correct for Lightroom v1.0 as well. But I agree with the others. If all you want is a set of 4x6 or 5x7 prints and you don't have a printer with adequate quality, Export them to a directory of JPEG files (set sRGB profile and about 80% quality), then upload them to a print service and have the prints mailed back to you. Or burn them to a CD and use a kiosk at the store. It's not difficult. Godfrey
warrenlewis
I'll try walmart..Thanks for the advice..Warren
gene_e._mccluney
If you are shooting high quality raw or tif files, don't forget to do a batch conversion to save as jpg's. Don't overwrite your original files. Many 1 hour type digital labs cannot read tif files. McCluney Photo
joshroot
A little late with a response here, but I have had horrible results with walmart. Ignoring political opinions about wal-mart, the fact of the matter is that they don't pay their employees enough to care about your photos. And they don't work there for long, so they never learn enough about running the equipment. The ladies at my local costco have been working there for 3+ years, I always see them refreshing the chemicals, and the equipment is updated regularly. If you don't have a costco around, I would try a Walgreens or similar.
