more fast glass shots from the LUG

My favorite Noctilux advocate from the LUG, (I wonder how many he has sold due to his many posts?), has posted a group of shots with all of the low light lenses from the M range, the 50mm f/1.0 as well as the 35mm and 75mm Sumiluxes. If any of you low light / selective focus fans are interested, take a look at the link below:

For the first link, it's hard to make a judgement between the 75 'lux

and the 50 Noct'. Sometimes I prefer shots from one, sometimes from

the other, regarding the oof - er bokeh.

For the second link, I am jealous: I rarely get anything good out of

these fast T-grain films in night shots. I often get large areas of

crappy and patchy dark grey (the close to black, but not black

areas). I know that often the thing is simply underexposed, but in

some case, the main subject is well exposed, and I still get these

ugly areas. How did he do it? Is xtol the secret?

It's not a great scan but here's a recent Noctilux shot. f/1.0 with

Kodak TMZ at 3200. The resturanant we were in was actually quite a

bit darker than it appears here. I love the Noctilux!</p>
