hemant_gurung
I am selling a CHROME Leicaflex SL2 for a friend of mine and we both are unsure about it's resale value. Would appreciate any help from the gurus here. Not many SL2's on eBay and the erratic prices are rather confusing. The SL2 is in a great user condition and comes with it's leather case.Thanks. doug herr
It's hard to pin a number on its value. The chrome SL2 is scarce so it would appeal to collectors, except it's been touched by human hands, which cuts it's collector value considerably. Depending on who you sell it to and how badly he wants it you may get anything from $700 to $1000 for it.
john_collier2
Condition, condition, condition.
It all depends on how "user" it is. I bought a chrome SL2 that had been dropped in a creek for $250US. I then had a CLA and focus screen change which tacked on another $250US. If I went to sell it I would probably only get the $500US I have into it because of its cosmetic condition.
Robin Smith
Gurung
If it is in nice condition then $900-1000 seems about right. If the condition is not so good then less. But this would be from a store w/ a guarantee. So less on ebay. Chrome SL2s I think are more desirable than the black (and more unusual). Remember though R stuff sells slowly, so if you hold out for this price you may not sell it. Price lower to get a quicker sale. Many people ask for way too high a price on ebay for Leica R and are disappointed when no sale results. Robin Smith
