NY botanical garden in winter, which lens?

I'm planning a trip to the NY botanical garden this month and if I had to take

one lens which would be best. 80-200?...28-70? any suggestions based on

experience would be helpful. Using digital SLR... Thanks Mike

Take 'em all. Shoot first, ask questions later ;-) Otherwise take one, any one, and make it a project to make the best of that lens.

Make sure at least one of those lenses has a macro capability ( at least 1:2 range ). Most of

your best shots of flowers during winter there are going to be in the greenhouses, so a tripod

is reccomended - but I don't know if NYBG is OK with that - check first. The nature walk is a

good photo op year round, though.

Either lens would be good, with extension tubes. If you don't have one, pick one up on your way. Have fun.

Forgot one thing-

Bring a cloth to wipe down your lenses. If you go in winter, you will coming in from the

cold into warm, and often humid, greenhouses. That can play havoc on your gear if you are

not prepared.
