thewaker43
i am purchasing a set of Leica tabletop legs soon and need a small ball head to go with it. I was just wondering how the two compare. the RRS is a bit cheaper. By the way i use an FM2n with a 50mm f/1.8 and a 24mm f/2.8 as well and a D80. thankscasey
Ed_Ingold
The BH-25 has a miniature Arca-Swiss type clamp. The Leica head has a 1/4-20 screw and a name.
yoni_perlmutter
I use the Leica ball head for Manfrotto TT legs and lighter 35mm camera gear (both digital & film, e. g. D200, F3, F801 ) and for lenses as large&heavy as an 85/1.4 or 180/2.8. I have at times put much heavier loads onto the Leica head because I needed to and it carried it all without quiver or whimper. It is extremely well made, sturdy and as simple as can be. For the gear you describe the Leica head would suit well. I use an RRS "L" camera plate and if one might extrapolate from that piece of gear, I'm sure the RRS product would be a good bet too. You probably wouldn't go wrong with either, but my positive experience is with the Leica head.
beeman458
Not sure what you're asking in your question. I have the BH-25 Pro (a very compact, well designed, very functional piece of gear) attached to a GM2460T 6X monopod and am very happy with it's overall look/feel/build/price/size/weight/ect. I have a larger/heavier Bogen/Manfrotto 468MG for the legset and the BH-25 Pro for the monopod. RRS is "Gold Standard" quality all the way if that's what you're wanting to know. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend RRS accessories to anybody from Leica land. :) I have a bit of their gear to go by, clamps, ballheads and L-bracket and will buy more or their gear in the future. Hope the above helps.
