Sometimes I look at your lost pictures with certain trepedation, wondering if I will find a

member of the family. I wonder if others feel the same?

 

(It is not so far-fetched! I have a regular search on that auction site and once found a

picture of my mother taken in the thirties. A fellow apparently buys up old albums and

boxes of photos and auctions those he thinks are unique. My mother was pretty, so the

picture was a natural candidate.)

Just an FYI. That "government" building is the monument to Vittorio Emmanuel. He unified Italy in the 19th century. The monument is also very unaffectionately known as "the wedding cake".
