cyclefitness
I'm brand new to Photoshop CS2 and can't even get started. I need Bridge to do something like Canon's Zoombrowser; i.e., view files in RAW. I looked up RAW in PS help and it provides great instruction on how to use it, but never where to launch it from. I cannot find it anywhere on the menus or toolbars. I saw "addon" mentioned, but can't imagine this product requires an addon to view a camera RAW file? Any help would be appreciated. THanks! William Kahn
Debbie, I'm not sure how you're doing this, but you should be able to see RAW files in Bridge with no problem. Upload the images from the camera to a file folder of your choice (preferably a folder created specifically for your RAW files), then open the folder in Bridge. If you're still having problems, come back here....
continuity
Have you used the built-in Adobe Updater to update to the latest Camera Raw plug-in? Maybe you have a really new DSLR that wasn't support with the original plug-in that shipped with CS2?
I believe ACR 3.6 is the current version. Ed_Ingold
Adobe Bridge/Photoshop uses a plug-in called "Adobe Camera Raw" (ACR) to open and interpret RAW files. If you can't see thumbnails, you probably need to download and install the latest version of ACR. You can find it at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3554. Follow the installation instructions carefully - ACR goes into a common directory.

archie
Thanks for that one Ellis as I am also new with CS2. BTW, any more updates with IPF5000 ?
gene_e._mccluney
IIRC, Photoshop CS, and/or CS2 does not come bundled with the Adobe Raw module, but it is a free download from the Adobe website. If you have the Adobe Raw module, then the viewing of supported RAW files is seamless. Click on a raw file, it opens up. McCluney Photo
cyclefitness
Everyone: I have the most up-to-date RAW plug-in, but when I open Bridge I see thumbnails with just the CR2 icon, no pictures. What am I doing wrong?
ellis_vener_photography
it's possibleyour raw files are corrupt, Debbie. Which Bridge workspace are you in? Lighttable or one of the others?
JohnMWright
If you can view the CR2 files with Canon's software, then the files are not corrupt. I'm guessing you have viewed them with zoombrowser based on your wording. Perhaps CS2 or the ACR addon didn't install correctly? Not to beat the topic to death, but did you make sure your model camera is supported by the version you installed?
scott_sjostrom
Debbie, Did you ever solve your problem. I was having the same issue. I did everything everyone suggest here with no success. I went to Adobe.com and found the updater for Bridge. You should be at 1.0.3. Once I installed that and restarted my machine I can now view RAW files. Hope this helps someone. I was ready to find a job driving a truck :)
