anthony_bez
They are inspiring images Guy. Number 3 does seem to have a wide depth of Field for f1.4. Oh you do know they "Would be much sharper with the 50mm f1.8" :-)
rtrace
Distracting bokeh in 1 & 2 with the aperture showing and none are too sharp, but that may be a processing issue? This is why I didn't get the 50/1.4 but the 85/1.4 Bogdan
jeri leibovits
Interesting series, especially picture #3 and #5. and here is my sample made with the Nikkor 50mm F/1.4 (fully open).<div></div>
anthony_bez
Guy, My guess was out it seems you should of used the 85mm :-) Bogdan, I have both lenses, but do not feel the shots would be improved if the 85 was used. Please post some images to demonstrate your point.

anthony_bez
Mick, Norks? Does it have something to do with bokeh?
gaius1
I do have both the 85/1.4 and the 28/1.4 too - but if I want to go ou carrying only one lens, the 50/1.4 wins for flexibility. Plus it is smaller and people relax more around it. The film used was TMZ so none of these are going to be incredibly detailed; that's probably what Bogdan sees as unsharpness.
