wheelie52
I was messing around with the macro function of my new A620 this morning. The shots are of a very small area a few inches square on an old tree stump in my yard! It's a whole new world!<div></div>

jcuknz
Welcome to the 'Club' of happy digicam owners shooting big close-ups:-) You could find that you can get even closer if you get yourself something like a 4<5 dioptre close-up lens which will keep you back from the subject but get the same or better/tighter framing by using your zoom. This works with x8 to x12 zoom cameras, not sure how it does with x4 zoom cameras like yours. Don't bother about lack of depth of field with using a long focal length lens becuase for this work there is little or no difference what focal length you use for a given subject filling the frame. Have fun :-)
