thierry nguyen cuu - nomad
Since macro photography is motion sensitive, what do you thing of AI SERVO focusing? I'm using a 30D with a 100 f2.8 Macro.<div></div>
mark u
I don't find AI Servo or even One Shot is particularly useful for most macro work - I mostly work with manual focus. The problem is that the depth of field is very narrow, and it's often hard to ensure that a focus point is on the part of the image that you want to be in sharpest focus with the composition that you want. With AI Servo, the difficulties are increased since it depends on the centre point for initial focus acquisition, and the first shot in a sequence is not focus priority. It can be useful photographing insects on wind tossed blooms, but there is also this technique: http://www.eosdoc.com/manuals/?q=ATrapFocus
thierry nguyen cuu - nomad
Thanks for your comment Mark. I agree that manual focus is the most accurate for macro. I just wanted to try something funny :)
