Hi guys! I'm finally out of the photo-doldrums and back in the streets and

darkroom. This roll had sat for exactly one year in my drawer. The Dance of

the Moors ("danza de los moros") dates back to the XVI century and is still

done at festivities all through the Purhépecha highlands in Michoacán Mexico.

Leica MP and (probably) Summicron 50/2.

Hi John & Marc! Many thanks for the welcome.

I expect to retake my accustomed ways of shooting at least one roll per week and doing one or two darkroom sessions a week too. This roll is 400TX (the emulsion introduced a couple of years ago). The only soup I had that didn't go sour was HC-110 --as you know the stuff lasts forever in syrup form- so I diluted it 1:63 (dil. H) and processed for 9 mins at 20?C with 3 gentle aggitation cycles every minute.

Nevertheless, the grain is quite prominent but also sharp. In a way, I like it better than D76, although nothing beats Xtol straight for fine grain and long gradation on Tri-X.

Tonight I'm doing another couple of rolls on D76.

BTW, the 400TX/HC-110 rolls scan beautifully on my Minolta DS-5400. The grain comes out visible but there's absolutely no noise. My guess is that each grain is at least three pixels in size. That helps to eliminate interference. A mild Unsharp Masking in Photoshop recreates a good 8x10 for screen display very credibly.
