robert_fleischman
I've tried a few, but they all have problems. Either you can't search through them by subject, or else you can't interact on them (like the ListQuest archive). The Majordomo things seem to require a PhD. in computer science to figure out!
Any suggestions?
kens
Suggestions? Shoot more 35mm and less 6x6.
Just kidding, Bob. I too enjoy the Hasselblad for the right kind of subject and situation, and I especially like the advantages of 120 film. But it can't compare to the character and spontaneity of the Leica. I have not been able to find a site that compares, and I think it has something to do with the type of photographer and photography.
Some 35mm enthusiasts perceive Leicaphiles as snobby, only because the equipment is relatively expensive for 35mm - a perception that is totally inaccurate. Well, Leicaphiles can't hold a candle to "Hasselblados". And maybe the character of the camera has something to do with the character of the photographer, and thus the nature of their dedicated web sites(?).
I will continue to use the Hasselblad where 120 film is the right tool. But when I grow weary of the bulk (bulky equipment and heavy character) I'll pick up an M have fun again. The Hasselblad is a great camera. The Leica is my companion. robin_smith
I don't know of an equivalent 'blad site but I have to say I do not really agree with Ken. Most Hasselblad owners are professionals and appreciate what the 'blad has to offer (mainly reliable cameras, large system and good optics, and particularly, good service) but they do not have the obsessive qualities that Leica owners seem to have (which is better the M3 ss or ds, 1960s Summicron versus latest Asph etc. etc.). Hasselblads are not seriously collected. They are lovely cameras though, but there are other good MF makes too.
