tonylarcombe
Not so much as a question, more of a statement........... I'VE FINALLY MADE IT !!! I just had my first bogus email, which proves I've made it right ? David Smith was asking for my services, the email looks pretty honest, good English, the church is very local to me, Mr.Smith did the research obvsiously, the wedding is this November, the little comment that made me a tiny bit suspicious was.... "we will have the photographs snapped at the wedding forwarded to the Publisher of a Magazine Company in United Kingdom so they could feature it in their celebrity journal" Now, I know I'm good, but I'm not quite that good !! I'm replying to it, but before you worry I won't be depositing any checks. Tony (officially now a pro).
daydreamsart
Why are you replying to it at all?

buckry
I replied once too and never heard back. The guy had a full 7 days before the wedding date (Friday late at night for some reason) but he never got back to me. I said I didn't have a wedding booked for Friday at 10pm and I would love photograph it and be featured in a popular British celebrity magazine. I'm still hoping he'll call or email... tonylarcombe
Ok, had a reply.......here's a snippet... "Hello Tony Larcombe Thanks for your mail..am ok with the Package 4 which is $895 I want you to understand that i will instruct my company in the US to make the payment to you in full WHICH IS ($895) to you via US Cashier's Check or Money Order drawn from a US Bank,So kindly get back to me with the following details for payment.." What I found kinda wierd was that my name was in a different font, kinda like the rest was pre-written and my name was added later !! .........or am I just being paranoid ?! His English is getting worse too.... Tony.
roger aylstock - californi
Cashiers Check or money order....it's a scam! Oh, the money order was made out for more, please cash the check and send him back the difference.
kevin cook - stratford upo
What you have done, of course, is confirm to the scammer that the address is still live and valid :-) There's more to come!!! They tend to sell confirmed 'live' mails to other people for good money. A confirmed live e-mail address is worth 1,000 unknowns in the rather dark world of spamming (so I'm told). cariad
HAHAHAHA...........895 dollars ......wow they are getting thrifty :) Mine send me 9000 to do his shoot, of course I handed it over to the FBI ...........but they won't do anything about it unless you cash the check and I did not want to go that route...... I bet they are getting our names from this forum.
tonylarcombe
Nope, he wanted to send me a check for $3500, deduct my money and then send the rest on to the food caterers, he did say that I could keep back $100 for my troubles, which I thought was nice. cariad
Wow..........christmas must be near and the need for presents......I just had a call from a gentleman with a strong accent for another gig in Texas. He was going to send me 5450.00$ but I informed him that it would have to be a personal check and that I would wait for it to clear the bank. Oh my.........he hung up on me......:( I guess I should have taken the cashiers check ;) hahahaha
