Use of Leica Polarizer for Portraits--?

Does anyone actively use the Universal Polarizer when shooting

portraits? It'll knock out oily skin glare on cheeks & noses in a

heartbeat, but I suspect there's a fine line between softening

facial "glow" & losing natural skin tones. Then I wonder/worry

about knocking out catch light from a subject's eyes...

I started playing w/ the filter (visually, sans film) a couple days

ago w/ different people -- the use is quite obvious, but I'm yet to

take it on a serious shoot. I'm cautiously excited & will use the

filter over the next month on a trial basis w/ people, but -- does

anyone have any "do's & don'ts" of shooting people w/ this filter

from experience? Otherwise, I know all the technical stuff about

polarizers from using these for a decade--so this is just a

portrait-related question only! Thanks...
