User_2019667
Found my Father-in-Law's old Kowa SER which is in perfect condition. I need to know what size battery the camera takes. I would like to sell the camera but I want to make sure it is working ok. Would appreciate any help. John Pender
winfried_buechsenschuetz1
I do not know the SER but I had a SET for some time. I think both cameras are designed for PX625 1.35V mercury cells. Alkaline cells with an initial voltage of approx. 1.55V will work for a meter test but since their voltage is not constant over time they are not suitable. There are adaptors available to use silver oxide cells in cameras designed for PX625 mercury cells. You can also use MRB625 Wein cells or 675 hearing aid cells with a spacer. User_2019667
Winfried; Thank you for the information. I bought a PX625A and it does the job. I appreciate your input very much. John Pender
winfried_buechsenschuetz1
I'm afraid the PX625A is an alkaline cell, so it will be suitable only for testing the meter for basic functionality. I don't think the meter will yield readings sufficiently accurate for slide film with an alkaline cell.
