brncr6
I have owned my E-300 for about 3 months now and would like some help with finding compatiable lens for it. Olympus lens are way to high in price for me right know. I got the two lens kit, 14-45 and the 40-150. Thanks for any advice.
mark u
Sigma have just announced that they will be making a further number of their lenses available in 4/3 mount - details which include 2 excellent macro lenses (105 and 150mm), the 30mm f/1.4, 18-50 f/2.8 and 50-500mm "Bigma" are here: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0602/06022611sigma43rds.asp In addition, they already have 3 other lenses available: the 18-50 f/3.5-5.6, 18-125 f/3.5-5.6 and 55-200 f/4.5-5.6. There is also the new image stabilised 14-50 Leica/Panasonic 4/3 lens, which promises to be very fine optically - but hardly a budget item. Otherwise, you are stuck with the Olympus offerings for the time being. However, you can expect that Sigma will make more lenses from its range available in 4/3 mount, and that Leica/Panasonic will likely add to their offerings in the coming months. Olympus are also likely working on adding to their range - more affordable offerings are likely as E-330 and E-500 sales build and once the new Panasonic version of the E-330 comes to market. mark u
Perhaps I should have added that there are adaptors available that allow you to use manual focus lenses from the Olympus OM system. Some of those lenses are very good, yet can be bought quite cheaply (and some are so good that they still attract quite high prices). The disadvantage is that you have to focus manually, and adjust the aperture yourself, using stop down metering.
