mark_jacoby___raleigh__nc
OK, here is what is most likely a silly question: I use CS2 for Windows on my PC for my editing. I will be outsourcing a lot of this work to someone who is a Mac user. She will be using CS2 for Mac. When she edits the RAW files on her Mac and saves to another format (TIF or PSD, etc) will I have any problem doing additional editing on those files on my PC? Common sense tells me I will not have a problem. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks
discpad
.PSD files have been cross-platform since at least (IIRC) Photoshop 3.0. Photoshop files edited on a System 6-9 Mac have an **optional** Resource Fork, which contains the custom Icon and Mac preview, if those options are selected in the File Save dialog box or set in the Preferences. However, Photoshop 7 was the last version that supported System 9, as CS and up are OS-X only. Cheers! Dan By the way, I'm Mac-NT Mailing List moderator! :)
gary_rees1
My wife (Mac/PS 8) and I (PC/PS 7) have no trouble exchanging PSDs between our computers, with all layers intact -- at least with the feaures we commonly use. I wouldn't think the CS2 version would affect their cross-platform compatibility. A bigger concern would be if you were using different versions (CS2 vs. 7.0, e.g.). As long as you're both using CS2 then all adjustment layers should operate exactly the same on both platforms.
