felix_ing
Hi all, Just received my 30D and shoot a job with it.What I've found to be "weird" is that, at the same ISO (250), I'm noticing a very bad chromatic aberration (R/C) --> barely acceptable after camera raw adjustment, only in dark areas (or color noise? I'm not too sure which is which but after tweeking the CA a bit it's "ok") --> any explaination? --> I'm not sure what I should crop out to give a fair comparison to show, so if you could advise I can post the results (unedited). Thx
digitmstr
Samples, full frames and crops would be good.
felix_ing
Um...seems like Bridges automatically fixes the CA when viewed at 100%...so I can't find an example just yet...sorry
digitmstr
What do you mean you can't find a sample. The original pictures are untouched. Simple re-size one of those and post it. What's the big deal?
KenPapai
CA is much more an issue relating to lens optics than anything else. Something posted in 2005 about 20D and two lens, 135mm and 50mm: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00CcTp
felix_ing
Giampi, When I view the pic at <100%, the color noise / CA is totally visible. Then when I enlarge it at 100%, camera raw automatically adjust it so that the "original" problem disappeared. So I can't find a sample supporting my claim. eric_lawson1
You need to do more reading and searching through the forums. Seriously, you should consider getting that book someone suggested in one of your other posts today. Brand new camera and as many problems as you are having I know you must be frustrated "we have all been there" but you need to look inside for some of the answers. Not all of this stuff "other post here today also" is equipment problems. Good luck shooting.
kuryan_thomas
When I view the pic at <100%, the color noise / CA is totally visible.
I'm a Nikon guy (sorry!) but couldn't this just be anti-aliasing artifacts caused by Bridge reducing the image size? digitmstr
>>couldn't this just be anti-aliasing artifacts caused by Bridge reducing the image size?<< Yes, indeed. But, I still don't understand why the poster can't make a straight conversion using the Canon DPP software.
