Rick Waller
I calibrate my monitors using Monaco system, but every now and then Gamma just pops up univited to say that it is "calibrating" my monitor. Then the brightness suddenly changes. How do I prevent Gamma from taking over and changing my settings?
rickvandenberg
Delete the gamma-related software from the start menu and restart. Assuming MS Windows OS.
Rick Waller
ok - let's assume that I am a much better photographer than computer tech guy. Exactly how do I delete the gamma from the startup menu? Thanks
will_perlis
Click on "Start" Click on "Run" Type "msconfig" (without the quotes) Click on "Ok" Click on the tab labeled "Startup" In the list you see, uncheck all the boxes that say "Adobe Gamma" or "Adobe Gamma Loader" (There might well be more than one depending on how many versions of PS you've got. (You should see one entry for your Monaco setup. Mine says "MonacoGamma". Leave that one checked or check it if it's not) Click on OK Restart your machine. savagesax
This is a good question. Haven't had this problem. You can go to START, RUN, type in MSCONFIG After that, click on STARTUP on the right side and uncheck GAMMA. Then restart the computer and a grey box will appear saying you made a change to the STARTUP, Click on the box on the lower left corner and select OK. Hope this helps. EricM
after you have taken out adobe gamma and restarted your machine, you'll need to calibrate as all your previous calibrations were done on top of adobe gamma.
bob_jackson8
Delete Adobe Gamma and Adobe Gamma Loader icons from your Startup group folder. Start > All Programs > Startup - right click on icons and choose delete. Bob
