roger hein
As I recall it has something to do with creating 3 separate channel mixer layers - one for red, green, and blue - but in the order g/r/b?
roger mitchell
I just attended a workshop where VV was one of the instructors but we did not do the B&W conversion. Vincent is truly an exceptional expert in digital photography and, particularly, in the use of Photoshop. His method method for converting to B&W is found in his educational DVD "Lesson 6: From Oz to Kansas. How to Convert an RGB file to Black and White without ever leaving the RGB color space." which is avaliable at his website versacephotography.com and will be in his book, "Welcome to Oz: A Cinematic Approach to Digital Still Photography" which is due out in August and can be pre-ordered at his website from Amazon. Hope this helps.

eric merrill
I looked at Vincent's website but didn't find any hints as to his process. All I found was an ad for a book that you can't buy yet and DVDs that are also "coming soon." Listened to the podcast. Not sure I picked anything up from it. I was hoping to learn a new Photoshop technique. Eric
