Prof-K
I think in photo.net, there are a series of articles on composition (which talks about balance) by Gloria Hopkins. Do a p.net search on gloria and composition.
lex_jenkins
Ditto Gloria's articles. Rather than another dry rehashing of the Golden Mean she provides a different perspective using photographs. Besides being an excellent photographer Gloria is also a fine painter, knowledgeable about composition and use of color. Nobody should be that multi-talented but she is. arnabdas
Aravind, there are 3 articles by Gloria. Very nicely written and illustrated, the folowup discussions are interesting too. http://www.photo.net/learn/nature/ghopkins/comp1/index.html http://www.photo.net/learn/nature/ghopkins/comp2/index.html http://www.photo.net/learn/nature/ghopkins/comp3/index.html
tito sobrinho
For years, I've been buying books about composition but my best one is: Image Management...composition for photographers by Nicholas Haz (1946).
