drew_bracken
Papers, papers, papers. What to choose.? Think Phllip-Lorca diCorcia, and Alex Webb. I'm wondering what paper and settings as well as if there are any tips that this brilliant group can share in CS2. I've been tinkering for some time now and not really too happy with my results. I've primarily been printing on Ilford Gallerie Classis Pearl, anty suggestion. Thanks in advance. Drew

mr._smith
Inkjet paper technology is moving away from plastic. As of this year, a new kind of inkjet photo paper has appeared from three different mfg's. And they are a perfect match for the Epson R2400 printer. jonathan_walker
I'm just a vulgarian, I suppose, but I have been using Epson Enhanced Matte for my R2400 (which i use only for black and white) and really like it.
godfrey
I'm with Jonathan. I use EEM for most things and Epson Fine Art Velvet now and again. So far, none of my buyers has complained about paper quality at all. Godfrey

edgar_njari
Really, the stuff that Lorca does has SO nothing to do with the papers or films he uses. He has been maintaining a rather consistant surreal look for 20 years using all generations of print film and papers, and it has to do with his use of lighting. He can make a street scene look like some kind of retouched advertising photograph from some brochure without any manipulation, straight from film to paper, all with the use of strobes. The materials he uses really have nothing to do with it, exept maybe having typical film esthetics, but so do your summer snapshots from 90's on Gold 100, so it means nothing. steven_clark
The galerie classic series aren't really compatible with these ink. Try some of the Galerie smooth papers. They work better.
