stwrtertbsratbs5
Jill - What type of scanner did you use? If I only had a flatbed I'd skip scanning completely and i'd print with an enlarger.
jillhardin
Robert, I get my film scanned at my lab, 25MB scans. Many of my portraits are at the beach, where random people might run behind at any moment, so I need to digitally remove them.
thomas_janik
I think a simple comparison that removes many of varibles in scanning, printing etc. is the following. Which do think would you prefer, a 6X7 tranparency projected with a quality projecter, or a D200 on a 42"plasma screen?
ben conover
The new technology will surpass the old but the art of the old will not die. You may invest a heap of money in making a movie digitally with special effects etc, but the same was done before using film, and it is still appreciated. The rest is a combo of economics and subjective stuff, like how much and how big etc. However, to be free of this dilema I think you should use both. Cheers. tahir_shafi1
(not so good at english, forgive me for any error) i think the digital vs film debates are just self consoling, infact digital is easier and cheaper in contest to film, so we some how want to console ourselves that ,,, yes digital is supssing film here,,,, honestly and honestly,, its a longway for digital to match film resolution and texture. but digital is doing more than film in many ways
