A610 vs. SD400, Canon:

These two cameras are similarly priced - Both fit most of my criteria,

it being:

1. 5 MPS

2. Within 300

3. Light weight

4. Compact

5. Different creative modes (very important)

6. Suitable for different skill levels

7. And, finally, I am partial to Canon

So, which one do I choose - the a610 is slightly cheaper, but the

sd400 is lighter - so, help guys

I'm certainly partial to the A610 - disclaimer: I own one.

In addition to the fact that it provides much more user control options than the SD400, at least for me, the shooting ergonomics of the A-series bodies are much better than the really small SD-series. Personally, I think you should also consider the Powershot S60 in that comparison as well, but that camera uses compact flash, if that's an issue for you. The main advantage of the S60, S70 etc, is that their lens goes as wide as 28mm. Like I said, when making the same decision myself, I went with the A610, for the ergonomics and the user control.
