dave_trayers
I have a Canon S820 printer that's wearing out. In addition to the large format Canon, I'm considering an Epson R1800 or R2400 and know quite a bit about them, but I haven't found any ink consumption comparisons with the Canon 900/9000/9900 series. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who's switched from the Canon to the Epson if they've noticed an increase/decrease in ink used? Subjective impressions are fine. Thanks. frank_skomial
I switched from Canon i9900 to Epson R1800 for 3 reasons: 1. After while of great usage, i9900 occasionally printed random strikes of color across the page, ruining paper and the paint. 2. The prints started noticably fading away colors only after few months of unframed display on the wall in sunny room in California - but no direct sun on the pictures. 3. Finally the print head clogged, and I was unable to fix it myself. The repair would cost too much. So far very happy with Epson R1800, though may be too soon to tell.
