Richard,

What camera do you have and how would you use the lens? Coatings have a lot to do with the reflection of direct light. More care needs to be taken with a non c lens. Until a month ago, I had an RB Pro SD and KL lenses. I also had a non c, c, and kl 180mm. I thought the optics were very good even on the non c. Most of my use was indoors with controled light.

The chrome Mamiya 18 cm f4.5 TLR lens I have from the late 1950's is coated. I have never seen an uncoated Mamyia lens; unles you mean the ones that were built coated; then uncoated by users via scrubbing with t-shirts. Maybe there is some pre WW2 Mamyia folders? All the C series TLR lenses are coated; all the later RB stuff too.

Thanks for the response so far. I have a Mamiya RB67 ProS.

I have that exact model and a 180mm (non-C) lens, too. it's definitely coated for color film...

took this shot last year with it but the later C and KL lens are supposed to be sharper:
