jeffrey_aiello_photography
I have a D50 and an SB-800 speedlight. A few weeks ago I did my firstmodel "photo shoot" at a friends make-shift studio. He installed awireless transmitter on the hot shoe of my D50 that remotely controledthe strobe lights in the studio. I was wondering what transmitter this could be and could it be used toremotely control my SB-800. Thanks, Jeff
frank_skomial
That transmitter (most likely - I do not know what it was) could only trigger SB-800 if it was set in Manual mode, but could not remotely control SB-800. Unfortunately your D50 built-in flash is not a commander, so cannot control remote SB-800 like the D70 could. However, you SB-800 when in commander mode mounted on your camera can control another SB-800 or SB-600 remotely.
