medina photography cherry
Hi all, I use an alien bee as my main light and an sp 920 as fill. I hook up the alien bee to my 20D with the included pc cord. The cord keeps falling out and I have been getting more request to do the studio type portraits. I want to get the pocket wizards to be wireless. My question is: is there an adapter I need to go from the receiver to the alien bee? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rob
Ed_Ingold
The Pocket Wizard transmitter will work in the flash shoe on you camera, or with an adapter cable (pc to 3.5mm mini-plug) to a PC port on your camera (I don't know if the 20D has a PC jack). PW makes adapter cables for practically everything. The PW takes a 3.5mm mini-phone plug, and the other end can be mini or 1/4" phone, PC, H-plug, whatever. In an studio situation (no party-flash-poppers), you can trigger one flash with the PW and the others with (cheaper or built-in) photoelectric sensors.
