cian_perez
I'm a new owner of a Minolta Autometer VI - my first dedicated light meter. I have a question concerning its operation for those who are familiar with this lightmeter. The manual clearly shows (page E22) that you can display F.No. (or aperture value) in the numeric LCD display instead of Ev when in ambient mode. However, my meter displays Ev but I do not know how to get it to display the equivalent F.No. in the numeric display. Any hints for the clueless? Thanx. PatrickMP
I've never heard of the Autometer VI, but on the IV that I have there is a little "FNo./EV" button. I just downloaded the manuals for the VI, and the instructions for changing between FNo and EV are on Page 69.
cian_perez
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! Two things became clear: (1) The outright incredible value of this forum, and (2) the clear necessity for me to READ THE FREAKIN' MANUAL! Thanks Patrick! You're a scholar and a gentleman! PatrickMP
LOL. Glad to be of service. You can repay the forum by giving a good review of the meter. I'm curious how it performs against the IV (not having a IV you can't do a direct comparison, but just give a play by play about how it works in the field.. ).
-Patrick
cian_perez
I'll certainly report back when I'm more knowledgeable about its use and features.
tiam
Hi, I am almost sure somewhere in battery compartment there are series of clearly marked and very small dip switches which not only do this adjustment but also will help you to switch to 1/3 of stop increment and or Cine mode and so on (at least this is the case with previous model), even for fine tuning the meter. As others suggested the best thing is to read the manual, I know it is boring and tedious task and sometimes is longer than good novel, but I have seen many people damage brand new and perfectly working equipment just by trying to bypass this simple step of reading few pages. Good luck If you cant find it drop me an E-Mail and I will forward you the exact photo where to find it. Mail@afzali.com
