Tamron 28-200/3.8-5.6

Is somebody have experience with the lens Tamron 28-200/3.8-5.6

for Canon? I'm planing to buy 350D with 50/1.8 and a zoom (not

decide yet wich one). Thanks everyone for help. Genna

I have had this lens for over a year and like it. When I bought my 10D and other equipment

to get me started in my business I couldn't afford to get more than one lens so I chose the

cheaper tamron that gave me wide and tele all in one. Of course the wide end is not so wide

so I did end up buying a 17-40 two months ago. But the tamron got the job done for me for

a year! I still like to use it when I need the tele end but you'll really like your 50/1.8 for a

walk around.

On a 350D, 28mm is not very wide, equvalent to 45MM view on a film camera.

 

A good gerneral purpose zoom for this camera should be 17MM or 18MM on the wide end. There are many choises of such zooms with a wide range of prices.
