robovet
Hello all. Has any one experienced a sudden onset of the LED display in the viewfinder being very dim, unreadable in daylight. This includes the dot, arrows, film speed (@startup) and shutter display in AUTO. Everything else works fine. I'm trying to get some ideas before I send it in for passport repair and an 8 week wait. Any insight appreciated-- marc
greg j. lorenzo
I assume that you've already tried more than one set of batteries? Regards, Greg
robovet
Greg, Yes I've tried 3 sets of fresh batteries with no change. I think there must be some kind of short. marc
stuart_richardson
It's supposed to change brightness with ambient light...perhaps it is stuck on the dark level somehow.
regit_young1
"It's supposed to change brightness with ambient light...perhaps it is stuck on the dark level somehow." Hi Stuart, is this a fact (the changing brightness bit) or you're pulling our legs? :)
michael_cockerham
Stuart's right, though. Read the manual.
gadge
Sounds to me like your finger may be over whatever measures if it is day or night. With apologies if this is a stupid suggestion.
wmwhee
Mine dims in bright light, as I recall. The camera, like my cell phone, has a mind of its own. Believe it or not, it's SUPPOSED to do these things.
regit_young1
Thank you for the confirmation, Michael. Must have dozed off at that page :)
