tim_drake
I just received a Mamiya C220F without an owner's manual and I seem to be having a problem of getting the back opened. What am I missing? Thanks
steve_dawson1
Haven't got mine in front of me, but turn the milled circular knob (to the left, I think), and then slide it across (also to the left, I think) - two actions are involved to avoid accidental opening. tim_drake
Hi thanks for the instant reply. I got it by accident. You turn the big knob to unlock and then push in the film knob above it at the same time pushing down on the little lever beside it. Wow, I still get to shoot tonight's sunset with it. conrad_hoffman
That sounds more like unlocking the bail to remove the lens, than opening the back. It should be like the C330, and the first reply sounds exactly correct.
pavelp
I think C220F has the same lock as C330s (which is different from C220 and C330). The big UNLOCK knob is for unlocking the lens clamp and has nothing to do with opening camera back. To open the back, you push the little rectangular slide on the back left side down and while holding it down, you push the upper spool knob in. The back should pop open. jeroen dommisse
http://mamiya.com/customerservice1.asp?id=3&id2=115 Click 'Download' on the right. The C330 manual should give an idea.
richard_keistler
The C220f doesn't open like the older 220's--I've got one (and love it). The little rectangular switch next to the upper spool knob is pushed down, then the spool knob itself is pushed in. That'll open the back. BTW it's the same on the latest C330, the C330s. The old twist and turn button the back itself was for the older models.
