robert meier
I have gotten a beautiful Zeiss Super Ikonta IV and I would like to find out if any filters or a lenshood were made for it. Or would it be possible to get a series v adapter and use series filters? I would appreciate any information on this that anyone could give me. Thanks, Bob
Andrew in Austin
It takes A32, which are commonly referred to as 32mm slip-on. The thin walled A32 filters work best. Although, it doesn't look like it, the front focus ring is also threaded to accept 35.5mm threaded filters. titrisol
Yes you can use series V filters, and would need an adapter in the sizes that were stated. There is a dealer in ebay under the name of eastok from whom I have bought several adapters and filters.
robert meier
Pablo and Andrew, Thanks very much for your information. I will look for Eastok. And 35.5mm filters? I thought the threaded ring takes female threads, not the regular filter threads, which are make. Is that not right? Thanks, Bob
tim_stephens
Robert, You can also contact some of the vintage camera dealers such as Ritz Collectibles or others who specialize in Zeiss Ikon. Often you will find the A32 filters, between $25 and $35 or so. I bought my A32 filter from Ritz Collectible Cameras and the service was exceptional, the filter was as described. The lens hood for this camera is also difficult to find, although frankly, unless you are shooting into the sun, I have trouble telling the difference between 'hooded' shots and shots without the hood. Expect to pay $50 or so for the lens hood, in my experience it is a bit rare. Enjoy the camera, it is a marvel of compact medium format.
