j_falth
I have something that looks similar, and it has rack and pinion focusing, adjustments. They say it is a D45M. If, perhaps, it has simple friction adjustments, it is probably not a D45M.
cjhale
Yes, this is an old thread but to clarify the answer: The camera in the photo is a Toyo View Deluxe (exactly) It is the original model in this series, predating the D45A (which had simple, friction locking on the side shifts) and the D45M (same as the A but with a rack and pinion knob for the shifts). The defining characteristics for the Deluxe are the metal , not plastic knobs on all of the controls and the external detent arms for the front and back zero tilt position. These were not continued on either the D45A or D45M. This version of the Deluxe has a short rail clamp but there was also an earlier style of clamp that had a longer, rectangular cross-section pillar. This is a very fine, precision camera but somewhat heavy. The attachment for the viewing hood is specific to this model and later hoods do not fit it but the lens boards, bellows and alternate backs are compatible with later Toyo models.
