jasona1
I am looking into the Colorvision Spyder2. I will not be calibrating aprinter. Just my LCD and CRT. Is there another solution out there thatoffers calibration of my Minolta Scan Dual IV? I don't scan too muchbut I can never seem to get the scan to match the slide. Will merelycalibrating my monitor take care of this or is there something elsethat needs to be done? (i.e. scanning a slide of a color palette andcalibrating from there) Thanks for any info......... ellis_vener_photography
calibrating and profiling a monitor only addresses what the monitor is doing. It won't affect your printer or your scanner ...or your camera for that matter. It only acts on the signal that is goingto your monitor and brings as close as your monitor will allow to a neutral view of the data that makes up your iamge. Both Vuescan pro and Silverfast Ai6 have built in scanner profiling software. other companies like Gretag-Macbeth, Monaco (Monaco EZcolor) and Chromix make profiling software. You'll need an IT-8 target and the refernce files for that specific target. Silverfast makes their own IT-8 transparency targets (for kodak E-6 and the Fuji Provia family of films) in their own facility and they are very good. Ai6 and the silverfast targets are what I use. ther target /reference file makers include Wolf Faust, Kodak, but the best come from http:// www.hutchcolor.com/
