CosteaM
I came across this camera looking for Zeiss glass on the auction site.I knew nothing about it and could not find much posted on PN either so first google pointed to this page:
Altissa Museum
From the little German I know it seams this camera is one of Pentacon ancestors. Actually the Pentacon logo is clearly embossed on the leatherette. Going by the info on the Altissa link it seams my Altix is from 1952 however the history of the manufacturer goes back to the beginning of the century changing few names since then.I won this beauty for $13.53 and could not be happier. It came in very good to excellent condition, fully functional. It has a true CSJ 2.8/ 50 Tessar fix lens, on a vebur shutter, speeds from B to 1/250. It is a RF, not coupled, you guesstimate and set the distance on the lens. It takes a bit of practice but results are outstanding. Camera loads like the Kievs and Leicas through the bottom but also has a small window/ back door that opens to access inside since there is no actual back. The small door has the pressure plate attached to it. Very ingenious and solid little camera, which is hard to let down once you start shooting. See here picture of the camera plus few shots I took last summer:

Happy shooting,
M.C. charles_stobbs3
It seems similar to Werras of the same era made by Zeiss.
jonathan_lloyd1
I don't suppose you have found any other site about these cameras. I bought one from a thrift store yesterday and would like to learn more about it. Unfortunatly I don't understand German. So the link you have was only partially helpful.
