steve foster
Is it possible to use the patch tool from one photo to another. You can use the clone tool to target one photo and clone part of it onto another photo but I can't seem to get the patch tool to do this. I use pscs. Any hints? I posted this last week but no-one seems to know the answer.
heller_harris
IIRC, you can patch from a pattern. Sample the first photo to create a pattern and then load that into the patch tool pattern palete. Use that pattern to patch onto the second photo. I haven't tried this, so take it for what it's worth... Let us know if it works.

mendel_leisk
Just some comment on the patch tool: I've always found it a pain to use, and tend to avoid it, because: 1. It's "hitch hiking" on the healing brush. So, there's no hotkey for it: you have to right-click on the healing brush icon in the tool pallet and switch to the patch tool mode(and have the pallet on). 2. Once done with it, the only way I've figured to dismiss the last selection is to to temporarily switch to something like lasoo, right-click the selection, and dismiss it. Then back to patch tool <j>, then right-click the icon in tool pallete, to set your self back to regular healing brush. All in all: very cumbersome to use on-the-fly.
