ryan_michel
I am assuming you mean night? I don't think there is any way except getting one shot and waiting for their return...I have had some luck with rose gardens having spiders in daylight:
I uploaded one of my spiders, you can find more at Ryan Michel Photography : Portfolio > Wildlife

mark_chappell
Ryan: nice spider shots. I'm pretty sure that species is Argiope trifasciata. A few suggestions for your 'wildlife' page:
The rabbit is a desert cottontail
The 'gnatcatcher' is a black phoebe
The 'sandpipers' are marbled godwits (which is a big sandpiper...)
The 'warbler' is a Bewick's wren

imaginator
I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but backlit works for some spiders, especially light colored ones. I'm thinking direct sunlight in daytime, but the same could be done at night with a flash. The trick is have the spider lit from behind (off to the side and/or above) and have a dark background. I took some shots like this recently, but haven't had the slide film processed yet.
arnabdas
JR, that is correct. My subject was sidelight by a silver reflector to make it appear slightly transluscent.
