david_ceruti
My 50mm f1.8 is front focussing quite badly and a phone call to the local Canon agents here in South Africa got me through to a particularly surly and unhelpful technician that gave me a price estimate only a little more than I bought the lens for. So I am thinking stuff you, Ill do it myself! Is this possible? I am hoping that there is an adjustment screw somewhere and that one of you can give me some advice or point me to a web site. Thanks and a great 2006 to you all David
yakim_peled1
Not likely. I recently went to Canon's main lab (in Israel) and saw that all calibration of both body and lens are done with computers which are connected to them. Happy shooting, Yakim. tom_phillips4
I thought my 50/1.8 needed calibration until I talked to Can on Service in UK. Immediately they told me that it was my 300d that needed calibration, not the lens - and they were right! You can find a number of threads on DPreview.com on this subject... http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1029&message=16447790 Regards...Tom P
