neil_rankin1
I just acquired a Vivitar Flash 5600. But what I want to know is, for what brand of camera is the flash dedicated for. How do you tell? Is there a way to tell? Thanks.
jcofer1
The flash is completely modular; head and dedicated shoe are both interchangable. Look on the back of the lower module, it shouldbe marked "PM/x" if I remember correctly, with "x" indicating what camera series it is dedicated to; N=Nikon, M=Minolta, P=Pentax, etc.You can remove the dedicated module and replace it with one that matches your camera system, although there are no modules to match the later Minolta Maxxum flash mount, and none with autofocus aid lights. There are several flash heads also available, including a bare-bulb head with a built-in slave sensor.
