Hello,

i am currently on a round the world trip. next month ill fly over to

sydney and stay in australia for 3 month.

as i am very new to photography i like to do some jobs and/or practical

course related to photography in any way. i dont like to be paid, just to

learn and to improve my skills and see how a real professional works.

so if anyone has got contacts especially to sydney or melbourne or

concrete tipps that could help me, please let me know!

i would appreciate that a lot. thank you in advance>

between my equipment is at the moment a contax 139 quarz with 3

lenses (50mm, 28mm, 70-210mm). Ill uprgrade to DSLR when i am at

bangkok.

between.. my trip continues in Los Angeles and then South America (

for sure Chile (santiago) and Argentina (buenos aires)). if someone has

got a hint for me in that cities i would be happy too :) thanks!

ciao, marcel

Marcel, your Contax outfit is good for travel, so I felt a little tremor when I read "Ill upgrade to DSLR when i am at bangkok." Have you ever heard of the English expression changing horses in midstream?

I seriously recommend you stick with the Contax for the duration.

hey,

thank you very much for your answer. i feel with you. normaly i wouldnt change my equipment. i really prefer analog SLRs over DSLRs, but my old contax (1979) seems to be broken. i got many bad pictures with red and yellow light dotts. seems like there is something not okay. since i dont like to loose to much time on finding the problem i am thinking about buying a DSLR. I also got a small laptop with me, so it would be a fine thing.

bye, marcel

Marcel-

there is a good camera store in Bangkok that has used Contax bodies at reasonable prices. You could just replace the 139 when you are there. I don't remember the name of the store, but it is on the ground floor of the Mahboonkrong (MBK) Centre shopping plaza. For the price of a DSLR (and new lenses that you'll have to buy to replace what you're carrying), you could get an RX or even an RTSIII used, both of which are much more robust than your 139 and are relatively modern cameras.
