Extended firewire cable

Looking at this specfication, http://www.faculty.iu-bremen.de/birk/lectures/PC101-2003/13firewire/usage_over_longer_dist.htm, it's spec'd up to about 15 ft (assuming I did the math right). Probably will work just fine at 25', but I'd be worried about reliability when you go beyond that.

Just a thought, if you start seeing 'odd' behaviour. Won't hurt anything, but signal dropout could cause strange behaviour and likely messed up images.

I see BHPhoto carries a 30' cable, with this caution: "Note: All FireWire cables longer than 30 feet long require an optional FireWire repeater." B&H carries a repeater (B&H# LALTMFDR) for $99.

NewEgg is a great option. I looked at BH since they're my preferred vendor, and firewire is used lots for video editing...

FWIW.
