v.anisimov
How long does a 420ex speedlite last? I.e, how many shots/flashes (on average) before it has be replaced? My 420ex is over 2 years old, probably around 10,000 flashes. Thanks
chrisjb
Hi, I`d take a guess and say at the rate your using it, it will last until its dropped. I`ve only replaced one strobe in 30yrs, still using 4 metz45/60`s 10-15yrs now , 3 canon flashes all used heavily, one 550ex has done well over 200,000, only thing you may notice is a change in colour temp as they get older. and had a 550ex recalibrated once by Canon. oops you may be lookin for an excuse to upgrade. then keep it as a slave. good luck
PuppyDigs
A new flash bulb is only about $10 if you change it yourself. $150 if Canon does it. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
