bobatkins
Define wideangle. If the 18-55 isn't wide enough for you, $300 isn't really enough to get you anything significantly wider. You'll need to go at at least $450-$500 and look at something like the Sigma 10-20 or Tokina 12-24.

bobatkins
Ah, OK. It's the dumb photo.net software that won't display the £ symbol properly unless you actually hard code it as an HTML & tag! <p> Take a look at <a href="http://www.photo.net/equipment/wideangle-dslr.html">http://www.photo.net/equipment/wideangle-dslr.html</a>

ralph_jensen
Tokina 17mm/3.5 is a very well-regarded lens, for $389 in the US. If speed is more important than ultrawide, Sigma 20mm/1.8 is also excellent, for US$379.
richard_tynan2
If 28mm (approximate equiv) is wide enough, the Tamron 17-35/2.8-4 Di lens is very good. I use one on a 20D.
