Infrared trigger on a budget

Hello there.<br>

I want to trigger my Canon 1D2 with a infrared beam. That is have<br>

the camera triggered when a beam is broken. I also dont want to <br>

spend many hundreds of dollars on a fancy system.<br>

I want to use this system to try to photographs birds near a feader.<br>

This is not exactly what you are looking for but you maybe able to work something out if you are on a tight budget.
