guoming_shou2
Hi-I have the XL and center filter, and also a Lee holder with grad ND filters. Before I buy the adapter to put Lee filter holder on the center filter, I am wondering if that would result in severe vignetting? Thanks!Guoming
ellis_vener_photography
1.) What format film will you shooting? 2.) How many slots does your filter holder have? If it is the filter hoder withthe compendium shade attached , yes you'll get a lot of vignetting on 4x5. 3.) For vertical orientation, may be no vignetting. For horizonal oformat orientation it is quite likely. 4.) You should only get the w/a adapter rng. Not the standard.
donald_hutton
What you need is a different Lee holder - the standard holder will vignette even with the WA adaptor ring. You need a 100mm push on holder and the "donut spacer" (I got mine from Robert White - see here: http://www.robertwhite.co.uk/lee.htm#LabelLeeSHolder ). The spacer slides around the center filter and the push on holder goes onto that. This arrangement works perfectly with one filter slot in any direction. I have not tried it with two - it may work. The result of using this filter holder and spacer ring is that the filter end up less than 1mm from the front of the center filter. I also use this holder on a 3B center filter on my 58mm, 80 and 100XL lenses.
guoming_shou2
Ellis, it is 4X5. And I only want to put one filter in addition to the center filter. Donald, thanks a lot! I will try that.
