gabriel_p.
Hello guys - again. I posted a question some time ago about my OM2 which was having shutter speed problems. Eventually I took the camera for a CLA and check, got it back and it seems the speeds are indeed constant now, down to about 1/15. The repair man reported an excess of oil (courtesy of the last CLA, i suppose) which had to be removed, and that he re-wired i-don't-know-what inside. But what intrigues me is the fact that at the chosen speed of 1 sec (i'm talking ONLY Manual mode in this post), i can actually count about 3 secs until the shutter closes!I wonder why it wouldn't work at slow speeds, if it works at higher speeds... So please, if you have an OM2, set it on Manual for me, and set the speed at 1 second, and fire the shutter a couple of times. Tell me if it does 1 sec or more..I'll do a film test myself, but until then i'm curious if my camera is the only one having this 'illness' or not... Thank you! richard_oleson
1 second is 1 second (within the range of .871 to 1.148 seconds, according to the OM2 service manual). I'd send it back and ask the repairer to do a shutter test and give you an accuracy chart of all manual speeds. Don't accept it if it's not within, say, 1/2 stop at all speeds.
