trw
Hello again, Recently, my Scan Dual IV has started locking up during autofocus onabout every 4th or 5th frame, requiring unplugging the scanner, exiting DS Dual4, Plugging in the scanner, turning it on, ejecting thefilm, and re-starting DS Dual4 to get back to scanning. Needless tosay, this makes batch scanning much less productive. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a known fix? Also, it seems to do a lot of redundant movements during the "film isbeing transported" stage, but I don't remember if it was doing thisbefore. bennybee
I have the same problems on a WinXP machine. Must be the Minolta software itself or...? Still struggling myself, tried various things. For the time being I concluded for myself that Batch Scanning and even the EasyScan features can best be avoided. Sorry that I can't be of more help. trw
It seems Vuescan (8.3.26) does not suffer this problem or the redundant movements. It also focuses faster and has better workflow for batch scanning where you've a batch of shots taken in the same lighting, with the same emulsion. The exposure lock and whitebalance is really nice if you have the strip at the beginning of the roll that's partly all-exposed and partly un-exposed, and at least one shot where there's something white in the scene.
