eric friedemann
1. All stand-alone photo-oriented CD/DVD burners I'm familiar with come with their own burning software. 2. My store carries the Delkin DVD Burnaway, which is a swell product: http://www.delkin.com/delkin_products_burnaway_dvd.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=373549&is=REG&addedTroughType=search 3. If you are using a Delkin or similar burner at a wedding, you don't need your laptop. You simply plug your memory card into the burner, push a button and burn onto a blank CD or DVD. ryan mcgill - trm photo st
I use a Lacie external DVD burner in addition to my internal DVD burner. They have great products and are MAC/PC friendly. http://www.lacie.com/products/family.htm?id=10008
sebastiandooris
Have had my External LITEON DVD-RW for about 3 years now works on both Mac(8/9/X)And any version of windows. The only drawback is no firewire. Have never had a problem with anything and I use quite a lot. You can pick up the latest model for about $100 anywherehttp://www.vdhsoft.be/specs/24734.htm PS: Works on all Macintosh machines but dose not state this on the box. aaron_lee___minneapolis__m
What on earth does this have to do with Wedding and Social Event Photography?!?! I'm an Apple lover myself, but this does not belong here. Aaron Lee

erik_h5
I installed an internal non-mac DVD burner in my G4 and it works great with iDVD.
aaron_lee___minneapolis__m
by the way, go to http://xlr8yourmac.com and they have a huge database of compatability reports. It also matters very much on the version of iDVD you have. I believe anything before iDVD '05 will not allow you to burn to an external drive. '05 and '06 will finally allow you to do that. ~Aaron Lee
